The Episcopal Chaplaincy at Stanford Hospital provides comfort and counsel to hundreds of patients and their families each year.
The mission of the chaplaincy is fourfold:
- To act as the presence of the Episcopal Church in the setting of the Stanford Hospital.
- To visit and offer support to every Episcopal patient that enters Stanford Episcopal Hospital.
- To act as a resource for clergy in the Diocese of California and the Diocese of El Camino (as well as clergy in other areas).
- To provide a training ground for seminary students (both deacon and priest candidates) as a field education site.
The Episcopal Chaplaincy has a strong history of serving the people of the Diocese of California and beyond. Our volunteers have the opportunity to be deeply immersed in a rewarding and fulfilling ministry and to work as part of a huge Interfaith Spiritual Care Department. Our volunteers are a diverse group-and represent the diversity and inclusivity of the Beloved Community values.
