Each year Epiphany sends our youth on a Mission Trip to grow spiritually and engage in service. Most recently our youth, along with youth from Trinity Church in Menlo Park journeyed north to Alaska. They spent several days St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Anchorage where they attended worship and had an opportunity to connect with local youth groups. They then drove to the northern town of Wasilla, staying at St. David’s Episcopal Church. Because of the long and harsh winters, much maintenance needs to be done to buildings and grounds. Our youth worked on the church property clearing brush, painting, and gardening, and chopping wood. St. David’s Firewood Ministry provides firewood to those who need it during their long cold winters. Previous Mission Trips have included working on a non-profit organic farm that provides fresh vegetables to local food banks in Bellingham, WA, and participating in urban renewal projects in South Los Angeles, where they got to work on homes and community centers in the area.
