We believe that children have the ability to contribute meaningfullly to our worship expression through music.
We currently have two Children's Choirs:
Our Joyful Noise Choir is for 3 year olds through 5 year olds.
Our Good News Choir is for children ages 6 through 14.
Teens 15 and up join our Chancel Choir.
Our children's choirs meet on Thursday afternoons, early September through the end of May. Children learn basic music theory, group singing and age-appropriate ways of participating in a choral group. Faith formation is embedded in the instruction. Most of all these sessions are great fun and our children develop a love for singing.
Each choir sings during our 10:00 service about six times per year. The congregation is very supportive and looks forward to their participation in worship.
The children's choirs also participate in community outreach, visiting Bay View Villa, a local nursing home, about four times a year and enjoying an afternoon of Christmas caroling in the neighborhood near Epiphany.
Parents enjoy socializing during practice times and take turns providing snacks for our young people.
The Children's Choirs have become a real community for our young people and parents alike.
