How we are organized

The Church of the Epiphany is a self-governing parish which operates under Canon Laws of the Episcopal Church of North America and the Diocese of California. Lay supervision of the Parish is handled by a Vestry, which is responsible for the selection of the Rector. The Rector serves as the primary clergyperson and is the Chief Executive Officer of the parish.

The Vestry consists of twelve parishioners, who are responsible for meeting the material needs of the parish, caring for the clergy, and enabling all aspects of Epiphany's ministry. Four Vestry Members are elected to three-year terms at the Annual Parish Meeting each January. Leaders of the Vestry are the Senior Warden (appointed by the Rector) and the Junior Warden (elected by the Vestry), Each vestry member serves as a liaison to one of the ten broad ministries of the parish. Meetings of the Vestry are on the second Tuesday of each month in the parish hall, and members of the parish family are most welcome to attend.
