Membership at Church of the Epiphany is defined
as:

Regular attendance and participation in the
worship life of the congregation

Making an annual financial pledge in support
of the parish ministries

Discerning how God is calling you to use
your gifts for ministry in service to God and others.
Steps toward Adult Membership
I. Visitor fills out a “Visitor Card” in
church.
II. The Rector or another staff person
contacts prospective member to arrange a personal meeting. If the person
contacted expresses a desire to become a member of our Parish they are given a
New Member Information Sheet to complete.
III. Upon receipt of the completed New Member
Information Sheet membership may be established as follows:
A. Participation in a three-session New Member Orientation class offered
in the Spring and Fall of the year.
B. Participation in the New Member Commissioning Service offered twice a year
at a Sunday morning worship service.
C. Completion of a pledge card and a commitment to stewardship of your time and
treasure to the ministries of the church.
D. For adults
who are not baptized or confirmed: Participation in a preparation course and
the Rites of Baptism or Confirmation (see clergy for times and dates).
E. For members
transferring from other denominations: Reception into the Episcopal Church by
the Bishop of California (see clergy for times and dates).
